Designation

The designation column provides the object's name. When possible we cross-identified the name provided by the observer with HD or BD catalogues and adopted a name in this order of priority. The telescope position was compared to the catalogue position to detect occasional mis-identifications which were corrected after a detailed analysis of all the information that could be used for identification.

If more than one spectrum of the object is available in the database, the designation is written only once on top of the list of spectra for the given object.

N/A means that no appropriate name was provided by the observer. A meaningful object designation will be given as soon as possible.

This archive is actively maintained. We thus welcome feedback from the user to help us detect anomalies and improve the website.
