telpos: Telescope position

An accurate position for the 1.93-m telescope has not always been accurately known due to problems with the telescope software, hardware interfaces and encoders used. However, any disagreement between catalog and telescope coordinates has been investigated whenever possible in order to confirm which, if any, of the two was the correct one.

Confusion over catalog coordinates between consecutive pointings is known to have occurred if the observing form for the next object was being filled in while the image for the previous object was being read out, in which case the previous image picked up the coordinates of the object going to be observed next. This confusion can be resolved by looking into the fulls2dbook.dat summary file for the night (soon to be made available).
